NAIMA Contributes Rs. 50 Lakh to PM Disaster Relief Fund for Rasuwa Flood Victims
The Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has announced a contribution of Rs. 50 lakh to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for communities affected by the devastating flood in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa.
The Association expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extensive property damage caused by the disaster. NAIMA offered condolences to the families who lost their loved ones, paid tribute to those who died in the incident, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
NAIMA said its member companies have also been actively supporting relief and rescue operations since the disaster struck. Assistance from member companies has included financial contributions, transportation, logistics support and other forms of emergency assistance aimed at helping affected communities.
The association noted that supporting communities during natural disasters and emergencies has been part of its broader responsibility since its establishment.
NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya said that disaster response should be treated as a shared responsibility involving the government, private sector and communities.
“Supporting the Government and affected citizens during times of disaster is a shared responsibility of the private sector,” Vaidya said. She also thanked NAIMA's member companies for their support and willingness to assist during the crisis, emphasizing that effective relief and rehabilitation require coordinated efforts among all stakeholders.
NAIMA further appreciated the efforts of government agencies, security personnel, health workers, rescue teams, volunteers, local communities and other organizations involved in search, rescue and relief operations.
The association has also urged businesses and stakeholders across Nepal's automobile and mobility sector to extend assistance to the affected communities based on their capacity and available resources.
